France - drinking in pregnancy logo to be enlarged on packaging in 2019
The French government has said that in order to improve exposure of the health statement "zero alcohol during pregnancy" on containers of alcoholic drinks", the size of the pictogram "prohibited for pregnant women" will be increased "significantly”. The logo, which shows a pregnant woman with holding a glass with a red strikethrough, has been mandatory on bottles of alcoholic beverages sold in France since 2007. The Inter-ministerial Committee for Health, which met on 26 March has said, that the enlargement will occur in consultation with all stakeholders before implementation in 2019.
